Robert Forbes started his fire service career in Virginia with the Newport News Fire Department. After moving to California he served seven years with the Compton Fire Department before joining the Ventura County Fire Department in 1972 where he rose to the position of Fire Engineer.

For over thirty years Bob was a dedicated Fire Fighter who loved the fire service and could not imagine doing anything else with his life.
